Team & partners

The 80by18 project involves people and organisations from around the city.

The first partners to be involved in the project and who have supported its development so far are Lighting up Learning, ASDAN, the Cabot Institute, Windmill Hill City Farm, Watershed, MShed, Ablaze, UWE and MyFutureMyChoice.

The project is being co-ordinated by a team from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Bristol and funded by an Arts and Humanities Research Council Connected Communities fellowship. The project lead is Keri Facer, the project researcher is Paul Strauss and the project co-ordinator is Teresa Nurser.

The co-ordinating team have also talked with young people from schools and youth groups (Envision, Windmill Hill City Farm Adventure Playground, Summerhill and Begbrook Primary Schools) in the preparation of the project. The team was assisted in the analysis of the 600 ideas by Harith Alani and Miriam Fernandez and their team at the Knowledge Media Institute, Open University. The team will continue to work with young people’s groups across the city to develop the project for the next two years. If your youth group or school would like to be more involved, please send us an email at the address below.

The first phase of the project began on February 21st, with over 80 people and organisations – from cultural and sporting groups, universities, charities and community groups, environmental campaigners, technology and arts organisations - coming together to start the discussion about what the experiences should be.
